On the 14th March 2012 at 4.10 am I had some pain on my chest near the heart. I called on my wife to give me warm water as I thought that it was some heart burns. After drinking the warm water the pain was still there that was when we made a decision that I should be taken to a hospital to see what is causing the problems.
My wife drove me to University Hospital at 4.45 am and we reached the hospital at 5.10 am. On arriving at the hospital they discovered that I had an Heart Attack. I was in the A & E until my heart beat came to normal. From there I was sent to the recovery room. I was in the recovery room for 2 days before I was sent to ward 4U.
On 17th March 2012 the doctor's advised me that they will do an Angiogram on the 20th of March 2012. During the Angiogram they found that I had 2 blocks 100 % and 1 block 90 %. They could not put the stem or balloon as it was too risky as I might get another attack or a stroke. The doctor's wanted me to do a By-Pass as this was best thing to do in my case. So a By-Pass was scheduled on the 27th March 2012.
On the day of my by-pass I woke up at 4.30 am and waited for my wife to come and help me in taking my bath. My wife arrived at 5.0 am and by 5.45 am I had already taken my bath and all my family member's were there to wish me the best of luck on my surgery. The fear of not coming back after surgery was on my mind but I was given the best assurance from my family member;'s and the team of doctor's who did the operation. Anyway I left it with GOD almighty to do what he saw was good for me. I was wheeled from my ward to surgery at about 6.30 am.
On arriving at the CCU I had to say bye to my family member's as the doctor's wanted to prepare me for the surgery. A Chinese doctor came and was putting some kind of medicine or injection on me. After that I was taken into surgery where another lady doctor put up a drip point on my neck. After this the anesthetic was given to me and that was the last thing I could remember till I woke up after my surgery.
I was wakened by the doctor's and they wanted to see how my surgery went. The next day the surgeon's wanted to pull some tube out and then I was able to speak. I was very thirsty and wanted water but they refused to give water till a later time. The next 2 days was spent in the CCU until the doctor's wanted me transferred to the normal ward till I will be discharged to go home. During my stay at the ward I was given advise by the physiotherapy on what exercise to do while while in hospital and at home. I was finally sent home on the 5th of April 2012.
I WOULD TO THANK MY FAMILY, RELATIVES, FRIENDS WHO STOOD BY ME DURING THIS TRIAL PERIOD FOR THEIR WISHES, MORAL SUPPORT AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE DOCTOR'S FROM UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL WHO MADE ALL THIS POSSIBLE FOR ME.
MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THEM WHO HAVE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY INVOLVED IN MY SURGERY FOR THE BY-PASS
Regards Jothy
